Passing of Brother Anthony Soter

Sisters and Brothers,

I have the unfortunate task of informing you that our Brother and my friend Assistant Business Manager Tony Soter passed away last night. Tony was a dedicated member of this Local and the IBEW, he always had the best interest of both in everything he did. He will be sorely missed and we pray for his family and friends as we all grieve together over this tremendous loss.

Tony was a member of Local 488 for 33 years and was active in the Local for most of his career. He was the Recording Secretary (2001-2004), Executive Board Member (2004-2020), he was appointed Assistant Business Manager by Business Manager Peter Carroll when he replaced Business Manager Pat Donahue in 2006, Tony was also an instructor for the apprenticeship program (JATC) for 26 years leaving his mark on this Local for many years to come.

I would like to personally say to each and every member of this Local I am sorry for your loss on the passing of your Assistant Business Manager, Brother, friend, instructor, confidant and whatever else he was to you. Today is a sad day for the IBEW and Local 488, but he will be in our hearts and thoughts and prayers as we move forward.
